Great for book shelves and window boards for interior joinery and renovation. They are kiln dried and ready to install in your house. All you need is the brackets or battens. Sapele is very strong and has a tight straight interlocking grain. It can be used for structural purposes and also good for engineering components.
What is Sapele used for?
Due to sapele's natural oil content and resiliance to moisture it is ideal for use outdoors. This combined with its fine grain texture makes it ideal for painted outdoor joinery for instance conservatories, garage doors, front doors and windows but it is also used extensively for pergolas, cladding and decking.
Can I paint Sapele?
Sapele has a fine grain texture and is very plain in grain pattern with no knots and very little character. This makes sapele ideal for painting and paint preparation is very minimal provided you use a good undercoat.
