The Benefits of Timber Cladding:

 1. Aesthetically Pleasing Timber Cladding

A benefit of timber cladding is that it’s aesthetically pleasing. Timber is a replenishing material that’s finished look appears warm and Timbersource’s range of wood species means that a spectrum of natural colours and tones occur within different species, which change as the wood ages and weathers.

2. A Durable Choice

Western Red Cedar and Iroko timber are extremely popular choices for cladding because of their popular choices for exterior cladding because of their durability.

Western red Cedar is from Canada/N. America’s west coast. Iroko timber is a very popular hardwood due to its appearance similarity to Teak; this is an excellent alternative as Iroko is less expensive and more readily available.

These species don’t actually need treatments or preservatives as they are defined as ‘Durable’ by TRADA (note: UK grown Cedar is defined as just ‘moderately durable’) Iroko has a ‘tougher’ surface than Cedar, if impact is likely to be an issue.

3. Versatile Timber Cladding

Timber cladding is also very versatile, in that it can be bespoke machined to numerous profiles and sizes. Generally, it can be manufactured to various patterns and species, which makes it flexible for most needs and customer projects.
